The Gypsum & Gypsum Products category features a premium selection of refined gypsum mortars, casting plasters, and supporting materials. Specially engineered for demanding industrial, architectural, and artistic applications, these systems deliver exceptional results. Thanks to high-grade Alpha-crystalline gypsum, our products guarantee excellent surface hardness, minimal shrinkage, and highly detailed mold reproduction.
Product Range Overview
This category includes a variety of plasters, bandages, and additives, each engineered with specific material properties:
Casting Plasters & Mortars…
CalCast: A cost-effective, semi-hard plaster that is ideal for casting decorative ornaments, wall panels, and faux stone.
PlasterCast: A high-quality plaster with a smooth finish, perfectly suited for lifecasting, sculpting, and general mold making.
MarbleCast: A harder gypsum variety that requires mechanical mixing and features a fast setting time (starts within 10 minutes).
UltraCal (Ultracal-30): An extremely strong gypsum cement with the lowest shrinkage/expansion in its class, making it the industry standard for precise pattern and mold making.
Plaster Bandages & Splints
Available in individual rolls, 5-packs, or as splints. These fast-drying bandages have a working time of approximately 3.5 minutes. They are widely used in the special effects (SFX) industry and lifecasting to create a rigid support shell (mother mold) over flexible silicone or alginate molds.
Additives
Gypsum Retarder: A fine powder additive that allows you to controllably delay the setting time of gypsum or cement. This provides extra working time for complex castings without compromising the material's final strength.
Important Application Instruction
For virtually all gypsum products listed on this page, FormX explicitly emphasizes the golden rule of mixing: always weigh the water first, then add the gypsum powder to the water (never the other way around) to prevent clumping and ensure a smooth, consistent mix.
Water-based polymer emulsion that enhances alpha gypsum properties for various casting and lay-up applications.
Water-based polymer emulsion
ASTM E-84 Class A flame rating
Ultimate tensile strength: 35.2 MPa (5,100 psi)
Compressive strength: 62.1 MPa (9,000 psi)
Maximum temperature: 93.3°C
This durable thermosetting polymer is extensively used as a binder, coating, and reinforcement material in both industrial and artistic fields.
