URE-FIL™ 13 is a specialized poly-blend filler designed to thicken urethane plastics and epoxies, making it suitable for vertical surface applications. By adding small amounts, it enhances the strength of cured plastic pieces. When mixed with flexible urethane, it produces a carveable and stampable finish, which is particularly useful for zoological and theming applications. A popular use is combining it with Simpact™ 80A for creating vines.
To ensure optimal results, the filler must be thoroughly dispersed in liquid rubber or resin to achieve a uniform consistency. When using large concentrations, add the filler to a completely mixed rubber or resin. This involves combining both parts A and B of the rubber or resin, mixing thoroughly, and then incorporating the filler. Ensure there are no lumps by using techniques like the ‘double-mix and pour’ method.
Moisture Management - Powder fillers can absorb atmospheric moisture, which may react with urethane materials, causing bubbling or foaming. To remedy this, spread the filler on a foil-lined cookie sheet at a thickness of 0.95 cm to 1.25 cm (3/8” to 1/2”) and bake in an oven at 60°C (150°F) for 4 hours. Allow it to cool to room temperature before use.
Storage - Use the filler promptly to avoid moisture absorption. After decanting, replace the lid immediately. For prolonged storage, use desiccant pouches to maintain dryness, replacing them every other time the container is opened. Ensure the lid is secure before storing.

Guarding Against Moisture - All powder fillers can absorb atmospheric moisture, which may react with urethane materials. If bubbling or foaming occurs in your resin/filler mix, it likely contains moisture.
Remedy: Line a cookie sheet with foil and spread the filler evenly at a thickness of 0.95 cm to 1.25 cm (3/8” to 1/2”). Bake in an oven at 60°C (150°F) for 4 hours. Remove carefully and let the filler cool to room temperature before mixing with urethane materials.
Storage - To prevent moisture absorption, use the filler quickly after purchase. Decant from the container and replace the lid immediately, avoiding leaving it open for more than a minute. For long-term storage, use desiccant pouches, replacing them every other time the container is opened. Ensure the container lid is secure before storing.
