Description

This lightweight, polymer-modified concrete blend is designed for vertical applications. It adheres to walls and upright surfaces without sagging, providing excellent workability for troweling, stamping, carving, texturing, and sculpting. Ideal for creating decorative finishes, architectural wall designs, faux stone, relief textures, and artistic concrete installations.

Features

  • Strong bonding and reduced shrinkage
  • Accepts pigments and stains for custom decorative effects
  • Can be applied in thin or moderately thick layers
  • Suitable for both interior and exterior use
  • Pairs well with colorants, texture tools, and sealers

The light base color allows for custom decorative effects. The mix can be applied in thin or moderately thick layers, offering flexibility for both subtle surface refinement and bold, sculptural detail.

Instructions

Surface Preparation Quick Reference Guide

  • Wire Lath: Provides a uniform surface for mechanical bonding. Fasten directly to substrates to enhance adhesion, especially in exterior freeze-thaw environments.
  • Wood Surfaces: Paint or seal before priming with RAMP and applying the mix. Optionally, use tar paper and wire lath for mechanical bonding.
  • Painted Surfaces, Interior: Sand to create mechanical tooth, then prime. Optionally, use wire lath for mechanical bonding.
  • Foam (EPS) Surfaces, Interior: Remove loose foam and prime before applying the mix.
  • Drywall: Clean and prime. Optionally, use wire lath for mechanical bonding.
  • Cured Concrete: Clean thoroughly. Acid etching or abrasion may be necessary. Prime before applying the mix. Use wire lath in freeze-thaw environments.

Priming Surfaces with RAMP: Mix 100 parts water with 100 parts RAMP (50/50). Shake and spray an even, thin coat on surfaces. Allow to become tacky before applying the mix. Reapply if primer dries completely.

Standard Recipe:

  • By Weight: 100 Parts Vertical Mix, 8.82 Parts RAMP, 22.06 Parts Water.
  • By Volume: 1 Bag Vertical Mix, 1.24 liters RAMP, 3.4 liters Water.

Preparation: Assemble ingredients. Wear protective gear. Use materials between 10°C - 32°C. Monitor mix temperature with a laser thermometer. Substitute up to 50% water with ice in warm environments. Use within 1 year if stored properly.

Mixing Instructions: Use clean water and vessels. Blend with a handheld mortar mixer. Combine water and RAMP, add pigment if needed, then add the mix. Mix until homogenous, adding up to 475 ml of water per bag for desired consistency.

Applying: Spread by hand, trowel, or mortar sprayer. Apply a thin layer first, followed by a thicker build. Maintain a minimum thickness of 19 mm.

Stamping/Texturing: Stamp with texture mats or rollers while in the plastic state. Use a liquid release to prevent sticking.

Carving/Sculpting: At 23°C, initial set occurs in 1-2 hours. Use various tools to carve and detail. Allow longer cure if material moves excessively.

Post Texturing/Coloring: Cure for at least 16 hours. Topically color with stains. Allow colors to dry before sealing.

Sealing: Cure for 7 days before sealing. Choose appropriate sealer based on exposure. Various options are available.

Cast Recipe: Vertical Mix - 15.4 kg, RAMP - 1.36 kg, Water - 3.4-3.85 liters, Water Reducer 555 - 120-150 ml, AR Glass Fiber - 0.56 - 0.68 kg.

Cast Technique: Lightweight for casting objects. Use Water Reducer 555 for flowability. Add AR Glass Fibers for reinforcement.

Use Under Water: Cure for 28 days before submerging. Perform water changes to manage pH.

Temperature Range: -40°C to 93°C. Apply sealer for durability in freeze/thaw environments. Avoid direct flame contact.
