TASK® 8 offers the convenience of a 1A:1B mix ratio and has a very low viscosity, so it is easy to mix and pour. Plastic cures quickly to a Shore 80D and exhibits good physical and performance properties. Heat curing this material is necessary to attain optimal heat resistance. See “Heat Curing” section for curing schedule details. Applications include making machine housings, thermo-forming and general prototyping / casting.
Technical bulletin Task 9
TASK® 9 Colormatch is a high performance urethane casting resin that features very high compressive strength and tensile strength. TASK® 9 is clear amber, which makes this plastic very easy to color using SO-Strong® or IGNITE® colorants. With a mix ratio of 1A:1B by volume, TASK® 9 is easy to use and a low mixed viscosity (300 cps) ensures minimal bubble entrapment. Pot life is 7 minutes and cure time is about 60 minutes (depending on mass). TASK® 9 is ideal for making impact resistant tooling, color accurate prototypes / models as well as durable reproductions. This resin is designed for casting in thicknesses up to ½” (1.27 cm).
Technical bulletin Task 11
TASK® 11 urethane casting resin is a semi-rigid plastic (has some flexibility) that is strong and very tough. Originally developed for high impact tooling (drop hammer punch), TASK® 11 also offers good abrasion and chemical resistance and is ideal for a variety of industrial applications. This product is suitable for some FDA/USDA applications - dry food contact only. TASK® 11 applications include making abrasion resistant parts, foundry patterns, encapsulation, roller facings, metal
bonding and vibration pads.
Technical bulletin Task 12
TASK® 12 is part of the TASK® series of high performance casting resins. It is a semi-rigid urethane resin that offers extraordinary handling strength and impact resistance. Castings are tough and durable. TASK® 12 can be color pigmented or filled and is used for a variety of industrial applications including making prototype models, high impact parts and tools. CAUTION: NOT FOR HOME USE. THIS PRODUCT IS FOR INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY. Proper ventilation, a NIOSH Approved Respirator and Protective Clothing are required to minimize the risk of inhalation and dermal sensitization. If breathing is affected or a dermal rash develops, immediately cease using this product and seek medical attention.Read MSDS before using.
Technical bulletin Task 13 & 14
TASK® 13and TASK® 14 are fast setting two-component urethanes that cure quickly to black semi-rigid plastics. TASK® 13 has a pot life of 3 minutes and demold time of 20 minutes. TASK® 14 offers a longer pot life (10 minutes) and demold time of 45 minutes. With a Shore value of 50D, these semi-rigid plastics are used for a variety of industrial applications including fast mold making, fast model duplication, prototyping, durable miniatures, black props and special effects, or making parts that are impact resistant. Fully cured castings are tough, durable and chemical resistant.
Technical bulletin Task 15
TASK® 15 is a premium performance urethane resin that exhibits exceptional impact strength when cast in thin-wall sections. TASK® 15 features a gradual cure profile, making it ideal for rotational casting applications. Pot life is 6 minutes and handling time 60 minutes at room temperature. Vibrant colors are possible by adding small amounts of SO-Strong® tint or IGNITE® fluorescent colors. Plastic fully cures with negligible shrinkage and can be machined, sanded and/or painted.
Technical bulletin Task 16
TASK®16 is a low odor, fast-setting Shore 80A/30D urethane that offers very high tear strength, impact resistance and wear resistance. TASK®16 is phthalate free, mercury free and MOCA free. Mixed one part A to two parts B by weight, TASK®16 pours easily. Working time is 6 minutes and handling time is 90 minutes at room temperature. Cured rubber has exceptional performance characteristics and dimensional stability. TASK® 16can be colored with SOStrong® or Ignite® colorants.
TASK®16 is suitable for making fast mechanical parts, gaskets, wheels and pullies, impact resistant props, and archival master models. It is also used to make fast, wear resistant rubber molds for casting concrete or concrete stamping pads. TASK®16 is also an excellent choice for rotocasting to create hollow semi-rigid castings.
IMPORTANT:Cured TASK® 16 will inhibit the cure of liquid platinum silicone. You can not pour platinum silicone into cured TASK® 16. Tin silicone must be used if you intend to pour silicone against cured TASK® 16.
Technical bulletin Task 18
TASK® 18 is a relatively low viscosity aluminum filled urethane casting resin that was developed specifically for making short run vacuum forming molds. TASK® 18 is also used to make industrial production parts, prototype parts and tracing patterns.
Technical bulletin Task 21
TASK® 21 is a performance urethane casting resin that has been described by many as having similar performance and mechanical characteristics to ABS plastic, with high compressive and flexural strength. TASK® 21 has no odor and is easy to process. Mix ratio is 2A:1B by weight or volume. Pot life is 6 minutes and handling strength is reached in 60 minutes at room temperature (depending on mass and configuration). TASK® 21 features a low mixed viscosity of 500 cps and readily de-airs itself when cast into molds. SO-Strong® or IGNITE® colorants can be added for color and a variety of powder fillers can be added to alter performance or appearance characteristics. Applications for TASK® 21 include rapid prototyping, casting strong and highly detailed models, making holding / assembly fixtures, figurines and decorative castings. IMPORTANT - TASK® 21 can not be cast into platinum-cure silicone molds. We recommend casting TASK® 21 into tin-cure silicone or urethane rubber molds (using a release agent)
