Description

This lightweight and versatile sculpting medium is approximately 27% lighter than standard clays, with a density of 1.15 g/cm3. It is suitable for applications where weight is crucial, such as movie special effects, medical models, and cosplay armor. With a high hardness of 70A, it can be carved like wood while maintaining intricate details.

It is excellent for rapid build-up. Artists can apply layers using a brush or trowel onto an armature or pour liquefied clay into molds for quick reproductions. The material is vegan-friendly and non-toxic, making it suitable for creating detailed spaceship models, props, and miniatures that require a dry, low-tack finish.

Instructions

Heating:

  • Warm to 46°C–49°C for hand sculpting.
  • For vertical build-up, trowel at 57°C–68°C.
  • To cast, liquefy at 100°C and pre-heat molds to 66°C for optimal results.
  • Never exceed 104°C.
  • Use a dedicated clay oven or crock pot; avoid microwaves.
Smoothing:
  • Use 99% Isopropyl Alcohol for gentle smoothing.
  • Use Naphtha or Turpentine for aggressive dissolving and creating slips.
Safety:
  • Wear gloves when handling hot containers.
  • Avoid Isopropyl Myristate unless permanent softening is desired.
  • Ensure proper ventilation when using aggressive solvents.
