Description

The ECC Blended Mix is designed using advanced concrete mix design theory to produce high ductility and tensile capacity, making it more likely to bend than break. Originally developed for seismic zones, it has been modified to improve characteristics while maintaining performance.

 
  • The strength comes from particle gradation and a high fiber dosage, enabling unique workability and variations in finish.

  • It is very strong, bends before breaking, and offers unrivaled finishes and durability.

  • All ingredients are white, curing to a bone-white, and can be pigmented with the Buddy Rhodes Color Wheel™ collections.

  • All necessary high-performance ingredients are preblended, including curing polymer, requiring only water and reinforcement.

  • Workability can be adjusted with water reducers.

Coverage and Cement Content:
  • Typically done at 1.9-2.5 cm thick.
  • Often cast at 0.95 cm thick for tiles. 
  • One bag covers approximately 0.46 m² at 2.5 cm thick.

Instructions

Pour the ECC Blended Mix into a clean mixing container. Add clean water gradually while mixing until a smooth, workable consistency is achieved. Mix thoroughly for several minutes to fully activate the preblended components, including the curing polymer. Adjust workability if needed using an appropriate water reducer. Place the mix into prepared molds or forms at the desired thickness, typically 1.9–2.5 cm (0.75–1 in), or about 0.95 cm (3/8 in) for tiles. Consolidate and distribute the material evenly to remove trapped air and ensure proper fiber dispersion. Finish the surface as desired. Allow the material to cure undisturbed in a controlled environment. Pigments may be added during mixing if color is desired. Clean tools immediately after use with water.
