Description

This pourable latex is pre-vulcanized for creating durable skins in gypsum molds. It forms a thick skin by allowing the latex to dwell before pouring out the excess. The latex can be colored using Fabtone™ pigments to achieve the desired hue.

Pour the latex into a dry, unsealed gypsum mold. For thin skins, pour the excess back immediately. For thicker skins, let it dwell longer. A 30-minute dwell time results in approximately 1.58 mm thickness, while a 2-hour dwell time can achieve 6.35 mm. Note that dense plasters and environmental conditions like humidity and temperature can affect drying time and thickness.

After pouring, allow the latex to dry in the mold for 12 hours at room temperature before demolding. Lightly dust the inside of the casting with talc to prevent sticking. Avoid exposing the casting to oils, greases, or solvents, and store it out of direct sunlight.

For cleanup, use soap and water to remove both wet and dry latex. Optional enhancements include using Fabtone™ latex colorants for dyeing and HX-Stiffener™ for reducing flexibility.

Instructions

Safety First:

Keep out of reach of children.
Avoid use if allergic to natural latex.
Avoid eye contact; flush with water for 15 minutes and seek medical help if needed.
Remove from skin with waterless hand cleaner, then wash with soap and water.
Children should use only under adult supervision.

General Preparation:

Do not freeze; it becomes unusable.
Store and use at 23°C.
Use promptly due to limited shelf life.
Temperature affects working/cure time.
Wear safety glasses, long sleeves, and rubber gloves.
Wash thoroughly after handling.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke in the work area.
Keep container closed when not in use.

Pouring, Curing & Performance:

Stir before use.
Pour into a dry, unsealed gypsum mold.
Eliminate bubbles by tilting or vibrating the mold.
Adjust dwell time for desired thickness.
Allow to dry for 12 hours at room temperature before demolding.

Using the Casting:

Dust inside with talc before demolding.
Avoid oils, greases, or solvents.
Store out of direct sunlight.

Clean Up:

Use soap and water for cleaning wet and dry latex.

Optional - Coloring & Stiffening:

Use Fabtone™ colorants for dyeing.
Use HX-Stiffener™ to reduce flexibility.
