FormSil 25

FORMSIL 25 is a silicone elastomer in two components, which crosslink when mixed at room temperature, thus obtaining a flexible, elastic final product with excellent mechanical properties. Due to the wide number of different applications, FORMX has developed a full range of catalysts in order to cover all customer needs and obtain different mechanical properties changing only the catalyst.

FORMSIL 25 BASE and the catalyst chosen are widely used to produce moulds for reproducing models made in wax, ceramic, wood, metal, stone, plaster, etc., in materials such as polyester resins, polyurethane, reconstructed stone, alabaster, plaster, etc.

Flexible silicone for pouring molds. Can be thickened with THi-Vex thickening agent. Shore A25. Colour: White. FormSil 25 has a low viscosity and pours easily without degassing. This is a budget silicone with good price/quality ratio.

Instructions

Application

In order to use FORMSIL 25 properly, the following points must be observed:

Use clean, dry vessel to mix base and catalyst thoroughly, using either manual or mechanical stirring and avoiding air being incorporated to the mix.
In order to obtain moulds free of internal voids, it is advisable to deair the mix. Using a 30 to 50 mm/Hg vacuum under the bell jar for few minutes.
Pouring of the mix must be done carefully to prevent air from being incorporated, which would give rise to bubble formation.

Package Size and Storage

FORMSIL 25 is supplied in 1, 5, 10 and 20 kilo sets.
FORMSIL 25 catalysts are offered in the appropriated dose-sizes as per above. Catalysts have a twelve-month shelf life if stored in its original container at room temperature.

After long periods of storage, it is recommended that the product be slightly stirred before it is used. Product efficiency is not affected.
