What Is ASA Filament?
ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) is a thermoplastic material developed as an improved version of ABS. It shares similar mechanical properties with ABS, such as high impact resistance and strength, but offers enhanced UV resistance, making it particularly suitable for outdoor applications. However, like ABS, ASA can be challenging to print due to issues like warping caused by temperature fluctuations and the emission of fumes during printing. Therefore, it's recommended to use ASA in a well-ventilated or filtered environment.
Optimal Printing Settings
To achieve the best print quality with ASA filament, it's important to use the correct settings. While manufacturer-specific recommendations should take precedence, general guidelines for ASA filament are:
Print Temperature: 220–245°C
Print Bed Temperature: 90–110°C
Cooling: 0% (not necessary)
